Cartoon Network was launched at the end of 1992, after Ted Turned, a media tycoon and multibillionaire, decided to buy Hannah-Barbera Productions in the previous year. Since 1992 and until at the beginning of the 2000s, Cartoon Network was the only major player in the field of cartoon television. However, the Disney Channel backed by a new strategy begun an impressive comeback and it now rivals CN for the top spot. Unfortunately, another major player, Fox Kids has gone out of business in 2002. Nevertheless, there are still some great cartoons that you would probably adore.
