There’s Nothing Like Paris

No one can deny that Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a romantic and a must see city for any earthling. Probably few of you know that most of the Paris seen today was built in the 19th Century. Actually, its beautiful and grand boulevards were created between 1853 and 1870 and were the masterpiece of Baron George Haussmann’s urban planning. Back then, he was the prefect of Seine.

During the rather short French Second Empire, a lot of tough laws restricting how the buildings should look like were enacted. This gave Paris its famous uniformity and its charm. There are almost no modern buildings in the city.

Instead of ruining their historical centre with skyscrapers, the Parisians came with the idea of having a new neighbourhood in the west of Paris – La Defense – where you can find all the city’s major business centres. Nevertheless, below you’ll find 25 superb photos that capture both the social and historical aspects of the city. Enjoy, be inspired and if you will like this article, then please share it with your friends or community! Many thanks! Cheers!
