Toledo – A Spanish Jewel

Since back to the Roman times Toledo was seen as an important city due to its strategic position, being placed in the middle of Spain.  Later, that was the cause of its multiculturalism; in the 13th Century the city became a place where Christians, Jews and Moors lived in a relative peace. Back then, that was odd and strange, if we think at least how many religious wars were being fought in the Middle Ages.

Nevertheless, the city prospered and it’s now one of the most beautiful from Spain. It’s only inhabited by approx. 90.000 people.  Among those, as some point was the famous painter El Greco.  The city numerous hot spot, the most important being: Alcazar, The Cathedral of Toledo, Taller del Moro and others.
