Therefore, I’m sure that must of you know the fact that there are thousands of useless wordpress plugins or widgets that where simply created to test our patience (or lack of it, if you like). Nevertheless, you might say “Mate, 8 twitter plugins that are useful? No way!” Well, I hope I will prove the skeptics wrong. Enjoy and if you liked this post, please do not forget to share it with your friends or community! Cheers!

Wp Follow Me

WP FollowMe is a wordpress plugin that allows you to add a twitter “Follow me” badge on your wordpress blog.

With FollowMe you can:

add a FollowMe Badge on your wordpress blog
change the color of the badge
change the follow me label
change the position of the badge (left side or right side and the distance from top)

Twitter Mentions as Comments

Twitter Mentions as Comments does exactly what it promises to do – scours Twitter for people talking about your blog posts and silently inserts their Tweets alongside your existing comments. The plugin leverages the power of WordPress’s built-in commenting system – notification, comment moderation, author white/black listing – making Twitter an extension of your blog.

Tweet Old Posts

Tweet Old Posts is a plugin designed to tweet your older posts to get more traffic. This plugin randomly picks your older post based on the interval specified by you. The primary function of this plugin is to promote older blog posts by tweeting about them and getting more traffic.

WP to Twitter

Posts a Twitter update when you update your WordPress blog or post to your blogroll, using your chosen URL shortening service.

Word Twit keeps track of when you publish new posts, and automatically informs all followers by pushing out a Twitter tweet. All links are automatically converted to tiny URLs to save space. Most users see a substantial increase in blog traffic after tweeting their posts on a frequent basis.

Twitter Tools

Twitter Tools is a plugin that creates a complete integration between your WordPress blog and your Twitter account.

Twitter Tools integrates with Twitter by giving you the following functionality:

Archive your Twitter tweets (downloaded every 10 minutes)
Create a blog post from each of your tweets
Create a daily or weekly digest post of your tweets
Create a tweet on Twitter whenever you post in your blog, with a link to the blog post
Post a tweet from your sidebar
Post a tweet from the WP Admin screens
Pass your tweets along to another service (via API hook)

Latest twitter sidebar widget

Display the latest updates for any twitter user in a widget. Automatically embeds links to @users, #hashtags and urls.

HL Twitter

HL Twitter lets you display your tweets as a widget in your sidebar or even browse your entire Twitter history right on your blog. But it also does a whole lot more. You can track multiple Twitter accounts and store all of the tweets on your blog indefinitely (currently Twitter only keep your 3,200 most recent tweets) as well as pulling in any tweets that you reply to for future reference. You can then tweet from your Dashboard or have HL Twitter automatically tweet your new posts with a customisable message.
